DOCUMENTAL THEATER

HOME AWAY FROM HOME

Home Away From Home weaves dozens of memories together into a touching, polyphonic journey through the Vietnamese diasporic communities that are often invisible. Divided into small groups, the audience meets six performers at different stations throughout the theater who tell their own stories and those of their families – as artists, workers, YouTubers, and students. A complex mosaic of human relationships emerges from stories, pictures, films, and audio pieces.

KIM

"Kim" is a stage piece between dance, literature and film, based on the novel " Wo auch immer ihr seid" by Khuê Pham. Five dancers and the novel's author herself guide the audience through a touching panorama of life between two cultures and the legacy of the Vietnam War. They speak about people, love, home and war

ARRANCAR LOS OJOS

"Arrancar los ojos" wonders about what immediately precedes that moment of mutilation and about what remains after the tragedy. It wonders about the causes, about the violent search to generate emptiness, absence of look, invisibility, blindness. It also investigates the possible ways to stop the loss of memory: to collect the remains, the traces, the images of those gazes on the verge of disappearance.
